Sync Issues

Ordara periodically syncs with your email to find new order confirmations. If orders are missing or the web dashboard is not showing your data, this page covers the most common causes.

Orders Not Appearing

Ordara syncs with your email on an hourly schedule. If you just placed an order, it may not show up immediately.

  • Wait for the next sync cycle. Syncs happen roughly once per hour while the app is running.
  • Trigger a manual sync. Go to the Email Accounts tab, click the three-dot menu on the account, and select Sync Now to start a sync immediately.
  • Confirm the confirmation email has arrived. Check your inbox to make sure the retailer has actually sent the order confirmation. Some retailers delay these emails by several minutes or even hours.

TIP

If you just connected a new email account, the first sync may take a few minutes to complete depending on how many emails need to be scanned.

Missing Orders from a Specific Retailer

If orders from one retailer are showing up but another is not:

  • Check that the retailer is supported. Ordara currently supports Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, Sam's Club, Topps, and Pokemon Center. See the full list on the Supported Retailers page.
  • Check your email. The order confirmation email might have landed in spam, a filter, or a different folder. Ordara scans your inbox, so emails that have been moved elsewhere may not be found.
  • The email format may have changed. Retailers occasionally update their email templates. If you believe Ordara should be picking up an email but is not, reach out to support so we can investigate.

WARNING

If the order confirmation email was sent to a different email address than the one connected to Ordara, it will not be detected. Make sure the correct account is connected.

Old Orders Not Syncing

Ordara scans emails starting from the Scan Back Date configured in Settings. By default this is set to three months back.

  • If you need orders older than the current scan back date, adjust it in Settings (up to one year back) and run a full sync.
  • Orders older than one year cannot be scanned.

Web Dashboard Not Showing Data

The web dashboard at app.ordara.io depends on the desktop app to sync data.

  • The desktop app must be running. The web dashboard does not connect to your email directly. It receives data from the Ordara desktop app running on your computer. If the app is closed, the dashboard will not update.
  • Check your internet connection. The desktop app needs an active connection to push data to the dashboard.
  • Try refreshing the dashboard. Sometimes a simple browser refresh will pick up data that has recently synced.

TIP

Think of the desktop app as the engine and the web dashboard as the display. The dashboard only shows what the desktop app has synced — so keep the app running for the most up-to-date view.
